If you’re new to EWP or even if you’ve been here for a while, you may not actually know what we really do here.
You may have found us on Facebook, come across an ad, signed up for one of our open houses, or been recommended to us by a friend or colleague.
So we wanted to reintroduce ourselves and share what EWP is and what we really do here.
Over the years our coaching program has been a whirlwind of growth and inspiration. We've had the privilege of working with over 50 coaches and nearly 800 women physicians.
The transformations that we’ve seen over the years have truly been so inspiring and we’re so honored to have been a part of our members' journeys.
Our sessions have featured world-renowned thought leaders, authors, and coaches like Liz Gilbert, Byron Katie, Martha Beck, and Jill Bolte Taylor. Each of these incredible guests has enriched our program with profound wisdom and insights.
We coach on so many life and business topics depending on what our current members need. Our team of coaches and our guest experts coach on all kinds of relationships, self-compassion, marketing, charting, negotiation, perfectionism, money, sales, and all the things.
I’m an academic so I’ve always cared about physician well-being and wellness which is why it made so much sense to mean to go into coaching.
Coaching is different from therapy and our program is often a bridge for others to seek other mental health support. Coaching does not pathologize, our goal is to listen, hold space, help you problem solve, and help you become the best version of yourself.
Coaches remind you who you are.
Who you always were.
And we help you live in alignment with that and who you were meant to be.
We help you live life on your terms and live the life that you worked so hard to create. Without overworking yourself, without skipping lunches and washroom breaks, without burning yourself out, without sacrificing yourself for others, and without feeling alone.
You’re human too. Your thoughts and feelings matter. Just as much as your patients.
It’s all mindset.
Yes, we’ve been conditioned into this systemic culture and these systems.
But your mindset is where you start making changes towards the life that you want.
The people that we surround ourselves with influence how we feel and who we are. And so do the things that we listen to and watch.
The stories that we tell ourselves matter.
We help you discover and get back to what means that most to you.
Coaching is an effective evidence-based intervention that improves your overall quality of life.
The role of women physicians is SO important in society.
And I don’t just mean your job title. I’m talking about the role that you play in this world and all of the lives that you affect.
You are truly remarkable.
And I hope this serves as a reminder of the incredible value and impact each of you has. Remember, you are amazing just as you are today. Embrace your role with pride and continue to make a difference in the world.
You can absolutely do whatever you want.
Until next time, with love and admiration,
Dr. Sunny Smith
